About Community Cares Program

Community Cares offers friendly visits and phone calls for LGBTQI+ older adults who are 55+, as well as LGBTQI+ people with disabilities regardless of age who are isolated, homebound or living in a care community (independent/assisted living and nursing/care homes).

Our mission is to end isolation in the LGBTQI+ community and provide information about welcoming Tucson resources and services.

Our volunteers are trained and have had a background check. There is no charge to participate in this program.

Referrals are encouraged and welcomed!

“This program has not only connected me to my visitor but to my LGBTQI+ community as well. Thank you.” ~ program participant

Southern Arizona Senior Pride Community Cares Program-Tucson is a member of the Neighbors Care Alliance (NCA) managed by Pima Council On Aging. We are represented at the regular NCA meetings where we network, problem solve, share announcements, participate in continuing education, and support one another. Being part of an alliance of programs that have similar, compassionate missions gives our program credibility, accountability and support.
