Senior Pride Book Club

The Senior Pride Book Club meets monthly to enjoy companionship and engage in lively discussion of a wide variety of books! Our group is diverse and welcomes all who share our interest in reading books and talking about them.

Third Wednesday of every month, 2-3:30pm
Ward 3 Council Office conference room
(Council member Paul Durham)
1510 E Grant Road
Tucson (and Vine)

NEXT: WED, DEC 19, 2-3:30pm

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel Our reading selection for December is Alison Bechdel’s acclaimed graphic memoir, Fun Home. It depicts Bechdel’s growing up in rural Pennsylvania and her dealing with her relationship with her funeral director/English teacher father and her coming to terms with her emerging lesbian identity, among other things.

We will be discussing the content of Fun Home, as well as the aesthetics of graphic works in general (i.e., how we make sense of this use of “comic book” form to treat serious issues). Robert Claassen will be our presenter/discussion leader.
