This Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter support group provides a forum for LGBTQ caregivers to share feelings, concerns, information and encouragement. No cost to attend. No commitment to come back.

Elder Circles:
The Wisdom Journey for LGBTQI Elders

Elder Circles are facilitated discussion groups that meet once a month on a drop-in basis to discuss important topics and share stories. Each Elder Circle focuses on one of four components: life review, life repair, what is my contribution and mentoring. The facilitator is trained and culturally responsive.

LBTQ Women’s Grief Group

This weekly support group is for Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer women 18 years of age and older who are looking for an accepting space in which to share their loss. The group is facilitated by the Director of the YWCA’s Women’s Counseling Network.

Old Lesbians Organizing for Change–ARIZONA

The Arizona Chapter of OLOC was established in October 2014. They have regular business meetings in Casa Grande and attend Pride events throughout the state for OLOC visibility. Social activities are planned locally.

PCOA Caregiver Support Group

Pima Council On Aging (PCOA) offers an LGBT-welcoming caregiver support group, which is open to anyone providing care for a person 60 and older, or for someone who has Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia of any age.

POZ Café

TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network) offers a once-a-month free luncheon for CarePartners (persons living with HIV who are also registered with TIHAN). Each CarePartner may bring one guest 18+ years of age. Doors open at 11:30am and lunch is served at noon. Times and location often change for the November and December POZ Café.

POZ Breakfast Program

TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network) offers vouchers to individuals living with HIV for a free breakfast once a month, courtesy of Mother Hubbard’s Cafe. Breakfast vouchers are available to persons living with HIV/AIDS who are registered with TIHAN (“CarePartners”).
