In light of the act of hate and terror in Orlando, the worst mass shooting in US history, targeting members of the LGBT community, a candlelight vigil took place at 8pm, Sunday night, at 522 N 4th Avenue. The gathering began at 7pm in front of IBTs (Tucson’s historic gay bar of 30 years, located at 616 N 4th Ave), and proceeded down the street to 522 N 4th Avenue where a program was held in solidarity and remembrance. Happening during Pride Month, a time of celebration of the diversity of our community, this tragedy takes on even more sadness. However, we affirm that nothing, not violence nor hatred nor terrorism, can stop the gift of love given to all of us. In this vigil, a community comes together in love. Please join us in solidarity.
